Omar Marmoush is on the verge of joining Manchester City, as he appeared to bid farewell to Eintracht Frankfurt fans and teammates following their victory over Borussia Dortmund last night.
With Manchester City submitting an offer, Eintracht
Frankfurt reportedly agreed to the Premier League club's request to omit the
Egyptian striker from the squad for the match. Instead, Marmoush watched the
game from the stands and joined his teammates on the pitch after the final
whistle. He was seen receiving congratulations from his colleagues before
acknowledging the fans by raising his arms and tapping his chest in a heartfelt
gesture.
Earlier in the day, Eintracht Frankfurt issued a
statement confirming ongoing transfer negotiations. "Eintracht Frankfurt
are currently in talks with another club regarding the transfer of Omar
Marmoush. As a result, he is not included in the squad today," the
statement read.
Reports suggest Manchester City has had an €80 million
bid accepted by Eintracht Frankfurt, paving the way for Marmoush's move to the
Etihad Stadium.
